Starting today, December 28, 2008, at 15:30 hours MDA Lahak Intensive Care Helicopter is to be on call from Kyriat Gat to evacuate casualties of the Western Negev.
MDA Director General Eli Bin & Lahak Aviation Director General Ron Ben Moshe after identifying its urgency have renewed the services of the southern helicopter.
The radius of mortar missiles and rockets fired from Gaza has increased targetting further away communities and MDA is on high alert level and ready to act accordingly.
At 15:00 hours MDA Negev Regional Dispatching Center was transferred to its emergency sheltered location in MDA Beer Sheba station.
At the same time Minister of Health Yaakov Ben Yizri is visiting MDA Ashkelon station where MDA Director General is providing him with an updated report of MDA activities. And readiness.
MDA is offering basic life support training to the population of the Western Negev during their stay in sheltered locations and educational centers. Refresher courses are provided to the medical personnel of public health clinics.
Since the beginning of the clashes, for the past 26 hours, MDA forces have been dispatched to 76 identified mortar missiles and rockets sites.
