A delegation of five MDA personnel recently returned from Barcelona, where they participated in a Red Cross Federation course for instructors.
In addition to the MDA representatives- Nadav Metzner, Ilan Stark, Udi Edrei, Moshe Ochayon Danenberg and Racheli Acher Cohen, delegation leader - representatives from Red Cross groups from other countries also took part. These included groups from Honduras, Uruguay, Canada, Panama, Uganda, Ghana, Liberia, Ivory Coast, Egypt, Syria, Iraq, Tunisia, Lebanon and the Palestinian Authority.
In the course, MDA representatives were taught methods of non-cognitive instruction in principles and values of the Red Cross movement.

"We are all experienced instructors", members of the delegation agreed today, " but we still acquired tools and good skills for better quality instruction." Moreover, the very fact of our taking part in a "crowded" meeting with representatives of different countries, the close acquaintance with cultures, customs and different outlooks, even with countries considered enemy countries on the one hand, and the fact that all of the
representatives, nevertheless, spoke the same language of Red Cross principles -the acceptance of people whoever and wherever they are, without discrimination or prejudice, on the other hand - was an amazing experience from which we learned more about the principles and values of the Red Cross than from all the classroom lessons together."
At this time, the Office of Coordination with the Red Cross is working hard on a program to implement the leadership tools that were learned in the course among MDA personnel, assimilating the principles and values of the Red Cross in the organization.
