The Blood Services of MDA held an award winning ceremony for the IDF units which had excelled in donating blood during 2009.
The ceremony took place on Thursday, 19th August 2010, 9th Elul 5770, in the MDA Blood Services building on the campus of Tel Hashomer Hospital. During 2009, over 72,000 units of blood were donated by all the IDF soldiers, which is about 25% of all the units donated all over the country during that year.
The award winning ceremony to the outstanding IDF units, took place in the presence of the Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Nachman Ash, MDA Director General Eli Bin, and the Director of the MDA Blood Services, Professor Eilat Shinar.
During the ceremony, prizes and certificates of recognition were given to the outstanding units and forces and to the civilian organizers of the blood donations from Magen David Adom.
