At the beginning of the week, an Israeli delegation of Magen David Adom (MDA) in Israel, and the Israeli Ministry of Health representative, Mrs. Mazal Albagli, arrived in Galle District, in Sri Lanka.


Mr. David Abadi, the Red Cross Coordinator in MDA is heading a delegation of three MDA senior instructors - 2 paramedics, Sharon Ben-Zvi and Natasha Etlender, and Dr. Asaf Peretz, , who are set to provide a two-week course on dealing with management of EMS and providing first aid in pre-hospital setting. Starting on February 11, the course will be provided to three groups simultaneously. Among other participants in the course, there will be included representatives of the Sri Lankan Ministry of Health, the Sri Lankan Foreign Ministry and the local RC Society personnel.
Upon conclusion of the course, the MDA medical equipment will be donated to the local medical teams.

At the same time, the Israeli Assessment Delegation composed of Mr. Abadi and Mrs. Albagli, will evaluate the progress of the project and define further needs of the Sri Lankan Health Systems, in order to develop the prosperous cooperation.

This course evolved thanks to the generous support of the Israeli Ministry of Health, The Foreign Ministry and the Joint. Mr. Eli Bin, MDA Director General, and Dr. Noam Yifrach, Chairman of the MDA executive committee, gratitude the Ministry of Health, the Foreign Ministry and the Joint for their contribution and gracious cooperation with MDA for promoting this important initiative.
