A man and a woman were murdered by a rocket strike in Kiryat Shmona

Today at 14:18 reports were received in MDA’s 101 dispatch center on a number of scenes of rocket strikes in Kiryat Shmona. A large number of teams were immediately dispatched to the locations, including ambulances, mobile intensive care units (MICUs), and MDA medicycle first responders. Magen David Adom teams which went out to search the scenes found 2 victims in critical condition, and following a medical assessment by MDA paramedics, pronounce a male and female in their 40s were pronounced dead.

In addition, from the rocket barrage on Kiryat Shmona, an MDA ambulance was struck by a blast, and its window was shattered.

MDA EMT Aviad Hertz: “As soon as we received the report of casualties from the rocket strike, we headed in large numbers to the sites where calls were received. At one of the scenes, we found a male and a female, about 40 years old, unconscious with shrapnel wounds. We performed medical assessments, but their injuries were critical, and we had to pronounce them deceased on scene.”

 Ziporra Barak, MDA EMT from Kiryat Shmona who’s ambulance was struck from the blast in the barrage: “I live in Kiryat Shmona and have had a first response ambulance with me since the beginning of the war in order to go out on calls. The rocket fell right next to my house, and from the blast, the rear window shattered. As soon as it was possible, we took the ambulance to the station for it to be repaired, and get it back into service”.
