Closure
As a 14 year old girl, Charlotte Kosti’s life was saved by MDA teams after a severe allergic reaction in her hometown of Haifa. Years later, Charlotte joined Magen David Adom as a national service volunteer and served as a paramedic on the ambulances, at MDA's 101 Emergency Call Center and as a shift officer. In addition, she served as a first aid instructor and following the difficult experience of her teenage years, Charlotte paid special attention to raising awareness of allergic reactions and how to treat them. After Charlotte progressed in the organization, she was assigned to the position of secretary of the regional manager Erez Geller.
After it became clear to the two of them, in a special and exciting moment, that they had met in the past - Charlotte said that it was time to fulfill her big dream, which she has been striving for since her life was saved: to become a paramedic in Magen David Adom. Encouraged by Erez, the dream came true and Charlotte recently successfully completed the prestigious paramedics course. The new ranks were given to her by Erez personally, in an exciting moment.
Regarding the closure ,Charlotte said: "As a child, I was familiar with ambulances, hospitals and hospitalization due to my health condition. Thanks to my acquaintance with the world of medicine, I decided to join MDA for my national service. At the age of 18, after advancing in the organization, I happened to meet Erez, who was the region director - and he immediately recognized me. It was an exciting and chilling moment, especially given the fact that I became his secretary and we work together. When he told me how he saved my life as a child, I was very excited. I really appreciate him professionally and personally and of course thank him every day for being here. "On fulfilling her dream, she added:" From a young age, I was exposed to doctors and nurses in the hospital but because of the personal connection to ambulances - I dreamed of becoming a paramedic and saving lives myself. When I told Erez, he was the first to support and encourage me and encouraged me to sign up for the course. "
About the dramatic moments that saved Charlotte's life, paramedic Erez Geller, director of MDA’s Carmel region, said: "About a decade ago, I served as the region's medical supervisor. I drove quickly to the scene and together with the MICU team that was already there I took care of her. Since Charlotte is in MDA, I kept the story a secret, but recently when she told me about the case - I shared the full story. It was a very exciting moment for both of us, really closing the circle. I was very happy to hear that she wants to take the course and I strongly supported her. I wish a lot of success in the organization and only health. "
