What is the Privacy Policy?

Magen David Adom Israel (“MDA” or the “Organization”) respects the privacy of the users in the Organization Website and is obligated to protect the privacy of the users in the Website, that operates in the address: www.mdais.org or any other address or different landing pages, at the discretion of the Organization (the “Website”). The Website, together with its content and online services, shall be referred hereinafter jointly and for the sake of convenience: the “Service.”

This document provides you information regarding the Service privacy policy. The document provides information, inter alia, regarding the manner that MDA uses the information that it receives from the users of the Service, or the information that was collected by MDA during any use you make of the Service and while you perform different actions in the Service. You are always required to act carefully and exercise your discretion when you provide personal information that might identify you or others.

This policy is an integral part of the Terms of Use of the Service. In this Privacy Policy, words which are in the masculine gender shall be deemed to include the feminine gender, and vice versa. This policy is a general privacy policy of the Website and of the different and various services that are provided in the Website. In any event in which there is a specific privacy policy for a specific service – the specific privacy policy shall take precedence over this policy in the event of discrepancy between the two policy documents.

The term “personally identifiable information” in this Policy shall mean any information, information items or data referring to a person, and that identify that person or that can be reasonably used for the purpose of identifying that person, such as full name, email, telephone numbers, identity card numbers, date of birth, sex, residential address, identifying medical information, occupational status, payment methods etc.

Contact/submit a report regarding invasion of your privacy
In the event you are of the opinion that your privacy was compromised during the use of the Service, or have any other question regarding this Policy, please contact us by any of the contact methods as stated in the Website, and we will try to answer your query at the earliest opportunity.

 


Provision of details and personally identifiable information to MDA

The general use of the Website and the viewing of the content displayed in the Website does not require registration or provision of personally identifiable information to MDA.

Nevertheless, the Website itself includes a number of sections and pages that allow payment, registration, performance of actions, provision of information and documents and creating contact, in which MDA will usually request from you a number of personal details, contact information and sometimes even payment methods, for the purpose of performing the action that is required in the relevant page or section, as may be required and according to the circumstances of the case. Without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing, the following is a non-exhaustive list of examples solely for the sake of illustration, of cases in which you will be required to provide personally identifiable information to MDA –

 Registration to courses – the Service allows you to register to the different courses offered by MDA. Participation in most courses requires payment of registration fees. For the purpose of registering and paying, you will be required to complete the registration process and provide the necessary information during the process, including your identity card number, full name, full address, telephone number and email. Afterwards, you will be required to complete information about the payment method you intend to use, including the credit card number for the purpose of making the payment, its expiration date, the identity card number of the card holder and the CVV number. We do not keep the credit card information of the Service users.

 Payment of financial undertakings to MDA – MDA allows to pay, by the Service, fees, debts, and different financial undertakings. For that purpose, it is necessary to provide information of the relevant number of the undertaking document, the identity card number and telephone number in the Service itself. After providing this information, you will be presented with the amount for payment and you will have the option to pay the amount of the financial undertaking.

Contributions to MDA – the Service will present you different options to make contributions to MDA. You may set the contribution amount or select one of the predefined amounts displayed in the Service itself. For that purpose, you will be required to provide information regarding the manner of payment of the contribution, your personal details (title, full name, full address, email, and telephone number) and complete the contribution process. A notice regarding receipt of the contribution, as well as updates regarding your contribution and future contributions, will be delivered to you, to the contact information you provided to MDA at the time of making the contribution.

 Assistance to the MDA supporters during their visit in Israel (MDA Care) – for the purpose of allowing MDA to assist you during your stay in Israel, you will be required to register for this service by filling a specific registration form and provide personal information to MDA (such as full name, passport number, date of birth, the association of friends you are a member in), contact information (email and telephone number), information regarding your visit in Israel (dates, flight information) and additional information.

 Registration for volunteering – the service includes a registration form for volunteering in MDA. When completing the form, you will be required to provide your full name, identity card number, year of birth, the city you live in and your telephone number and email. The information that you will provide by the registration form will be delivered to the volunteering coordinator in the Organization.

 Available positions – when you answer to the want ads that we post in the Website, we will usually require from you identification information, contact information and information about the position you are interested in. In this framework MDA might demand from you information also about your professional training (résumé, references, etc.) so that MDA will be able to assess and evaluate your suitability to the relevant position.

 Forms – the Service includes different type of forms on different subjects, in the spheres of activity of the Organization, that allow online completion and submission of the information required in them. These online forms usually include different fields of personally identifiable information that should be completed, including identifying personally identifiable information and contact information, based on the nature of the relevant form and the use in the Organization that MDA will make in this form. Part of the online form will also allow you to upload different forms, that might also include personally identifiable information.

For example, when filing an application for a medical report, or any other information from MDA, you will be required to provide the information of the service recipient (full name, identity card number, identity card photocopy, address, telephone numbers), the information about the event subject matter of your query (date, place, report number of debt notice), information about the inquirer (to the extent that he is not the patient/the casualty for whom the service is required), the purpose for which the information is required and more.

 Contact – the contact us page in the Service allows you to contact MDA in various ways, inter alia, by an online contact form in which you will be required to fill in the information about the relevant department in the Organization, select the subject matter of the query from a predefined list, fill in your full name, email, and telephone number, and write the content of your query in a few lines. The form also allows you to attach and send files, that might also include your personally identifiable information. Additional personally identifiable information might be collected while corresponding with you following your request to contact MDA.

The registration to any of the services provided in the Website and the provision of personally identifiable information to MDA are permitted only to users who are 18 years of age or older. You confirm and declare that you are 18 years of age or older. You should refrain from providing any personally identifiable information if you are under 18 years of age.

The mandatory fields that you are required to fill in each of the cases as stated above will be indicated clearly. Without providing the requested information you will not be able to complete the registration or the requested activity. You are obligated to provide only true, accurate, and full information.

The details and the information that you will provide will be stored in the database owned by MDA. You are not obligated by law to provide the information and such provision of information is subject to your will and consent, however incorrect information, or failure to provide the entire information as required might lead to circumstances in which you will not be able to use part of the Service features, harm the quality of the Service provided to you and MDA will not be able to contact you, if necessary. The use of the information and the details that you will provide will be as stated in this Privacy Policy hereunder.

When you provide personally identifiable information of a third party, you declare and confirm that you obtained its express and knowing consent to provide his information to MDA, for the purpose of using this information in accordance with this Policy.

Information collected in the course of the Service
During the time you use the Service, MDA will collect information regarding your practices while using the Service, including information or content that you read or viewed, the pages you viewed, queries of searches you made, the services you were interested in and the frequency of their use, the place of your computer or terminal device and the IP address data that you used for the purpose of accessing the Service, the type of the operating system you use, the type of the terminal device you have and information about this device. In addition, MDA shall be entitled to collect and receive assistance from third parties (such as Google Analytics) for the purpose of collecting and analyzing anonymous, statistical, or aggregate information in connection with the use of the Service, including information related to your activities in the Service. This information is usually collected automatically and stored in “log files” of the Service servers.


Use of the personally identifiable information
The details and the personally identifiable information that you will provide and that MDA will collect during the time you use the Service will be used in accordance with the instructions set forth in this Policy or in accordance with the provisions set forth in any law for the following purposes –

 For the purpose of allowing you to use the Service and its content and facilitating the proper operation of the Service, inter alia, as an online tool that allows registration to courses, registration for volunteer work, contributions to MDA, payment of financial undertakings, assistance to the MDA donors during their visits in Israel, creating contact, online completion of organizational and other forms and uploading documents, and presentation of extensive theoretical information to the Service users;
 On relevant occasions – for the purpose of identifying you when you log in again to the sections that require registration, and saving for you the time in typing your information again;
 For the purpose of improving and enriching the services and the content proposed in the Service, and in this regard to create new services and content that is appropriate for the requirements of the users and their expectations and to change or cancel existing services and content. The information that MDA will use for the purpose of this matter will be mainly statistical information that does not identify you in person;
 For the purpose of allowing you to customize the service to your preferences in the relevant cases;
 For the purpose of collecting from you the payments from the online courses that you ordered, or collecting the amount of the contribution to MDA, or any other payment you make to Organization;
 For the purpose of delivering to you periodically information and notices from the Organization, including informational brochures, invoices, different operational notices and more. Such notices might include, in proper cases (for example, when registering to the MDA courses) advertising materials, as meant by these terms in the Communications (Telecommunications and Broadcasts) Law 5742-1982;
 For the purpose of contacting you when MDA is of the opinion that this is necessary;
 For the purpose of conducting analysis, control, and provision of statistical data to third parties. This information will not identify you in person;
 For the normal operation and development of the Service;
 For the purpose of enforcing the Terms of Use and Purchase in the Service, for the purpose of complying with the requirements laid down in any law, regulation or any other legislation, and for the purpose of assisting the competent authorities and tribunals or any third party, when MDA deems in good faith that it is required to act in such manner.
 In any event of a dispute or legal proceedings between you and MDA or anyone acting on its behalf;
 For any other purpose, as stated in this Policy, or in the Service Terms of Use and Purchase.


Provision of personally identifiable information to third parties
MDA will not sell, lease, or transfer personally identifiable information about you for the marketing purposes of third parties. MDA will not deliver to third parties the personally identifiable information that you provided and the information that was collected regarding your use of the Service, however only in the following cases or in accordance with the provisions set forth in any law –

 To the extent that this is required for the purpose of supplying the Service regularly, and in this regard to payment services and clearing services providers, with relation to the services that require payment within the framework of the Service;
 If you breach the instructions set forth in the Binding Documents, or if you perform by the Service or in connection with the Service actions that MDA deems as illegal or engage in an attempt to perform such actions;
 If MDA receives a judicial order or a demand from a competent authority, ordering MDA to provide your information or the information about you to a third party;
 In any dispute, claim, suit, demand, or legal proceedings, if any, between you and MDA or anyone acting on its behalf;
 In any event MDA is of the opinion that the provision of the information is required for the purpose of preventing from you serious personal injury or damage to your property or to the property of a third party;
 To other companies or organizations that are related to MDA, provided that they use this information only in accordance with the instructions set forth in this Privacy Policy;
 For the purpose of providing and sharing anonymous, aggregate and statistical information with other companies or organizations that are related to MDA and with business suppliers and partners. MDA will not disclose knowingly to these third parties your identity without obtaining your approval;
 If MDA organizes its activity or the activity of the Service in another framework and in the event it changes its legal structure – it shall be entitled to transfer to the new entity a copy of the information stored about you in the MDA database, provided that this entity accepts the provisions set forth in this Privacy Policy towards you;
 Following your express request.


Where is the information stored?
The personally identifiable information that MDA collects is saved in the Organization databases, that are stored independently, or by providers of server and data backup hosting servers that might also be outside Israel. Additional information, as stated in this Policy, is collected and stored by other companies (such as statistical companies etc.) that can also store the information outside the territory of the State. Your consent to this Policy also constitutes consent to the storage of the information abroad and its transfer outside Israel, to the extent required.

Cookies in the Website
MDA uses cookies. Cookies are text files that your browser creates following a command from the Website computers. Part of the Cookies will expire when you close your browser (Session Cookies) and other will be saved on your hard drive in the terminal device that you use, and will be used when you return and visit the Website (Persistent Cookies). The Cookies may include different types of information such as information about the webpages you visited, the period of time you stayed in the Website, the previous website you visit before arriving to the Website, the information that you request to see at the time of logging into the safety consultant and more.

If you prefer that no Cookies will be stored on your computer, you may change your browser settings for the purpose of rejecting specific types of Cookies or remove them manually. Information security
MDA ascribes paramount importance to the information security in its systems. For the purpose of protecting the information, MDA operates information security systems, applications and procedures that are intended to minimize the risks against theft, harm, loss, or unauthorized access to the information. Nevertheless, these measures are not completely foolproof. Therefore, despite the extensive effort that MDA invests in the protection of your personally identifiable information that is stored in its systems, MDA does not undertake, and you cannot reasonably expect, that the Service and the data systems used by MDA will be foolproof against unauthorized access to the information stored in them. By the mere use of the Service, you are aware and you agree to these limitations.


Storage of information
MDA will store your personally identifiable information in accordance with the requirements laid down in the law, according to its requirements for the purpose of performing the Service, conducting research, control, and documentation. When MDA is no longer required to store the personally identifiable information as said, MDA shall be entitled to convert the personally identifiable information into anonymous information that will not identify you or, alternatively, delete it. MDA reserves the right to store, alter and transfer information related to you, at its sole discretion, if it is required to act in such manner as said for the purpose of complying with the requirements laid down in the law, the government, a judicial order or according to MDA’s requirements. It is clarified that the transfer of this type of information does not attest to the consent, approval, or responsibility of MDA with relation to this information in any manner.


Right to inspect the information
In accordance with the law, any person is entitled to inspect, whether in person or by his representative who was authorized in writing, or by a guardian, the information about him that is stored in the database. A person who inspected this information and found it to be incorrect, incomplete, unclear, or outdated, shall be entitled to contact MDA and request to amend or delete the information. If MDA declined such a request, MDA shall be obligated to notify the inquirer about its decision in the manner and form laid down in the Protection of Privacy Regulations (Conditions for Inspection of Data and Procedures for Appeal from a Denial of a Request to Inspect) 5741-1981 (the “Regulations”). The information applicant shall be entitled to appeal MDA’s refusal to grant the right of inspection and the notice of refusal to amend or delete information, in the form and the manner prescribed in the Regulations.


Amendments in the Privacy Policy
MDA shall be entitled to amend from time to time the provisions set forth in the Privacy Policy. If material amendments in this Policy are made, an announcement for the purpose of this matter will be posted in the homepage of the Website, to the extent possible. The link to the Privacy Policy displayed in the Service will always link to the updated version of the Policy. The continuation of your use of the Service after the publication of the updated Privacy Policy attests to your consent to this Policy. If you do not agree with the new instructions set forth in the Privacy Policy, you are required to discontinue any use of the Service.
