MK Moshe Solomon visits MDA
"MDA is an organization that symbolizes all that is good in Israeli society"
MK Rabbi Moshe Solomon (Religious Zionist Party) visited Magen David Adom's National Operations Center in Kiryat Ono, meeting with the Director General Eli Bin and other members of the senior management team. MK Solomon heard about MDA's activities, toured the NOC and was briefed on MDA's widespread actions as Israel's national rescue service.
MK Solomon took an interest in MDA's National Service volunteers, in the public access defibrillator program, in the "MDA in the Community" program that will help reduce the pressures on emergency rooms and by MDA's life-saving activities particularly in peripheral towns. Prof. Eilat Shinar, Deputy Director General of MDA Blood Services reviewed the subject of blood donations by members of the Ethiopian community and presented the many changes that have taken place over the past few years, that have removed the previous limitations and allow for a more equal blood donation capability. MK Solomon also met with MDA staff and volunteers, learning about the way the operations center, as well as the entire organization, operates during routine times as well as times of crisis.
MK Rabbi Moshe Solomon (Religious Zionist Party): "Despite knowing, as a volunteer, about the organization from within, I was impressed to side the operational and managerial aspects of this special organization, that is active around the clock saving lives. MDA is an organization that symbolizes all that is good about Israeli society, where citizens from across the broad public spectrum unite to fulfil the vital mission of saving lives. No one checks to see who comprises the team, or where the caller is from when going out on a call, and we will ensure that this will continue."
MDA Director General Eli Bin: "I'd like to thank MK Solomon, and we are pleased that he's a member of the MDA family. A member of the Knesset who follows our activities, while he and his children are rooted in the organization. I hope that we will be able to increase the cooperation, and continue to act in routine or crisis, for the benefit of the health of the Israeli public. I wish MK Solomon success in the new government."
