MDA teams from across Israel competed in an annual competition that tests skill and efficiency
The annual competition held by MDA's Lachish Region took place in Moshav Bet Ezra. Six ambulance teams from the Lachish Region took part from Ashkelon, Ashdod, Kiryat Malachi, Gan Yavne, Sderot and Kiryat Gat, alongside four Mobile Intensive Care Unit teams, including teams from Lachish, Negev, Ayalon and Jerusalem Regions.
The teams included EMTs, paramedics, employees, volunteers and youth, who were sent on calls in the ambulances and MICUs to provide care in a number of simulated scenarios in order to assess preparedness. The scenarios included snake bites, a patient with a severe asthma attack, a baby who had drowned in a pool, donning PPE suits and treating patients with chemical injuries, as well as treatment of victims of missile attacks while wearing protective gear.
In the MICU scenarios, the winners were the team from Ayalon region, and in the ambulance category, the winners were from Ashkelon station.
