Thirteen volunteers from Kiryat Malachi and surrounding towns joined Magen David Adom's MDA station in Kiryat Malachi, after completing the MDA EMTs course.

The ceremony marking the course completion was attended by MDA Lachish Regional Manager Haim Karadi, and his deputy Nachum David, the director of the Kiryat Malachi station Itzik Amzaleg, the chairman of volunteers at Kiryat Malachi station Michael Kanter, Volunteers manager Ariel Shabo, the trainees and their families. Certificates and epaulettes were presented to the 13 new volunteers who will now be able to help save lives by being integrated into ambulance shifts and as first responders in their area of residence and will later also be trained as ambulance drivers.

The EMT course is the most advanced course that you can join without prior knowledge of first aid. During the course, which amounts to 227 study hours and lasts about a year, the trainees meet twice a week for theoretical and practical study and are exposed to a great deal of diverse knowledge in the various fields of first aid.

The manager of MDA's Kiryat Malachi station Itzik Amzlag opened the ceremony and said: "After about a year in which you studied and invested a lot, the time has come when we present you with the MDA symbols, uniforms and ranks - backed by a certificate of completion of a course that authorizes you to provide care to the sick, injured and maternity calls. I would like to thank you for devoting your time as a full volunteer for the community, and to your family members for the understanding and patience required for your volunteering at MDA.''

The manager of the Lachish area at the MDA, Haim Karadi: "I congratulate you, the new medics, on joining the Kiryat Malachi MDA family. Although we are at a graduation ceremony, this is the opening ceremony of a new beginning, the beginning of volunteerism that has great significance and saves lives. With your help We will continue to provide the sick and injured with a quick and professional response anywhere in the city, in the kibbutz and in the village and provide, as you know, sensitive and high-quality care. I wish you much success!''
