First Female Bedouin qualifies as MDA Ambulance Driver
23-year-old Lina made history, by joining MDA as an ambulance driver in the Bedouin community in Kseife - the first female to do so.
Following weeks of training on a combined EMT and driving course, MDA EMT Lina Azbarga recently received her license to be an ambulance driver. Just a few days ago, the 23-year-old became the first female MDA ambulance driver in the Bedouin town of Kseife.
Lina began volunteering in MDA 6 years ago, qualifying as a first aid responder, completing and instructors' course, a phlebotomy course, and now she has successfully completed the EMT and Ambulance Driver's course. Lina recently received a volunteering award from the Minister of Education.
"I make sure to do at least 2 shifts a week," said Lina. "My favorite thing to do is to help others, to support and assist them. I love my work in MDA, and make an effort to continue to study and learn more. I hope to go on to study medicine at university."
