A Bulletproof Mobile Intensive Care Unit in memory of Special Police Unit fighter and volunteer MDA Paramedic Noam Raz was donated at a special Salute to MDA evening
A special Salute to MDA event took place on Sunday night at the Charles Bronfman Auditorium (Heichal Hatarbut) in Tel Aviv. The event included a moving concert conducted by Maestro Eli Yafe, with giants of the Jewish and Hassidic music world – Benny Friedman, Shulem Lemmer, Yonatan Razel and Haim Israel – alongside the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, the Music Academy Chamber Choir, and the Jerusalem Great Synagogue Choir. The evening was hosted by Eden Harel and Yishai Lapidot.
Those present included former Israeli Chief Rabbi Israel Meir Lau, now Rabbi of Tel Aviv, head of the Civil Service Commission Prof. Daniel Hershkowitz, Chairperson of the World Zionist Organization Yaakov Hagoel, Chairperson of the MDA Executive Committee Rabbi Avraham Manela, MDA Director General Eli Bin, Chairperson of the Israeli Friends of MDA Gil Weiser, Chairperson of the Israeli Friends of MDA Orli Ariel, former head of Yesha Committee Pinchas Wallerstein, Senior member of Yesha Council and chairperson of Amana Zeev Haver, along with other senior business and Israeli industry members.
The incredible evening was produced by the Israeli Friends of MDA, led by chairperson Orli Ariel, and was dedicated as a show of thanks and appreciation to MDA's staff and volunteers for their lifesaving and humanitarian work around the clock. During the event, funds were raised for a bulletproof ambulance, dedicated in the memory of MDA volunteer Paramedic Noam Raz who fell in battle in Jenin. Efrat, Noam's widow, moved the crowd with her stories about Noam, and received a certificate of appreciation for Noam's lifelong dedication to the safety and security of the State of Israel, and to lifesaving activities.
MDA Director General Eli Bin: "I want to thank all those involved in arranging this exciting evening. Over the past two years we have faced unprecedented challenges. The religious community is always with Magen David Adom, whether through volunteering or donating blood, and we are very grateful. I also want to thank the wife and family of Noam Raz Z"L, who will have the MICU donated here tonight dedicated in his memory."
