MDA Dedicates MICU in Druze Town
Magen David Adom, with the aid of the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews (IFCJ), dedicated a Mobile Intensive Care Unit in the Druze Town of Beit Jann.
The Druze town of Beit Jann in Israel’s Upper Galilee played host to a ceremony marking the arrival of a new Mobile Intensive Care Unit (MICU), making this the third of four vehicles donated by the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews (IFCJ).
The Druze population, based mainly in towns and villages of northern Israel, is an inseparable part of the Israeli population, with many serving in public offices, the IDF and vital roles within Israeli society.
The IFCJ has donated more than one million dollars-worth of vehicles to Magen David Adom stations in the Druze communities of Julis and Dalyat El Carmel, with a fourth MICU to be stationed on the Golan Heights.
Radhi Najham, Head of the Beit Jann Local Authority thanked all those involved in the project that will significantly improve the availability of emergency care in the Druze communities. “The MICU is a valuable addition to the First Responders who volunteer in the area… We pray that the MICU will only save lives.”
Safuan Marih, of the IFCJ: “The Fellowship places a high priority on projects that aid Israel’s population during times of crisis or difficulty. MDA has been a great partner. These MICUs will now be able to respond even faster within the Druze communities, where services have required improvement.”
MDA Director General, Eli Bin: “The long-lasting relationship between MDA and IFCJ helps to strengthen MDA’s abilities to provide security and health across Israel. The MICU presented today will help improve response times and allow our paramedics to save lives in Israel.”
