MDA's Medicycles unit was established in 2002 and currently has over 650 Medicycles, which are equipped with life-saving medical equipment that includes, among other things, a defibrillator and an EpiPen to treat allergic reactions, allowing initial medical assistance to be provided prior to the arrival of an ambulance. The Medicycles are painted in a bright yellow color, in order to stand out on the road in an emergency.

One of the new Medicycles was received by MDA volunteer medic Dor Vaknin from Yaara. Vaknin (22) has been volunteering at Magen David Adom from the age of 14. "The riders of the MDA Medicycles unit are on standby 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and arrive first for each event in order to provide the fastest and most professional medical treatment".

MDA EMT Simon Gadban from MDA's Yarka station also got to dedicate a new Medicycle. Gadban (28), who has been at MDA since 2017 added: "The new Medicycle that is packed with medical equipment that includes advanced resuscitation equipment will undoubtedly be a power multiplier that will help us further improve the medical care we provide to patients and injured in the area".

Eli Bin, MDA Director General: “Over the weekend, ten new Medicycles joined the hundreds of MDA Medicycles spread across the country and saving lives every day for an hour. The new Medicycles help us shorten the response time and allow us to reach those who need medical help faster. We will continue to act in every way to shorten the response times for public health."
