MDA staff and volunteers collect some 700,000 food items for families in need ahead of Passover

For the 19th year in a row, thousands of MDA staff and volunteers across the country have been collecting food for families in need ahead of the Passover festival.

Over two weeks, 20,000 boxes were filled with some 700,000 food items, all donated by generous people across Israel. The packages are all delivered to the families ahead of Passover, ensuring that everyone can celebrate.

MDA Director General Eli Bin: "As per previous years in the lead up to Pesach, MDA volunteers are once again putting in huge efforts to ensure families in need have products that will help them celebrate. MDA is an organization whose life-saving is part and parcel of life in Israel. Our connection with the community is a priority for us - we are in constant contact with the welfare departments throughout the year, and especially around the time of the festivals. This is a humanitarian mission of the highest level, and I think the Israeli public for playing their part and donating to the cause."
