Shooting attack at the central bus station in Be'er Sheva
Today, at 14:27, a report was received at MDA's 101 emergency call center to casualties from a shooting attack at the central bus station in Be'er Sheva. Large forces of Magen David Adom, including ambulances, mobile intensive care units, and MDA responders on medicycles, were dispatched immediately to provide medical care to the injured and evacuate them to the hospital.
MDA paramedics fought for the life of a 25-year-old woman, and after resuscitation efforts, they were forced to pronounce her dead.
MDA EMTs and Paramedics provided medical treatment and evacuated 10 casualties to Soroka Hospital, including:
A female in her 20s in serious condition
4 injured in their 20s in moderate condition
5 casualties with mild injuries from glass shrapnel
Additionally, 3 individuals suffering from shock were evacuated by MDA teams.
MDA Paramedic Barak Wittenberg: "We arrived at the scene of the attack, and there was huge chaos. We were told that an attacker had entered and assaulted passersby. We provided initial medical care to the injured and evacuated them to ambulances and mobile intensive care units that took them to the hospital. We then conducted a thorough search within the central bus station, during which we found two further casualties hiding in one of the shops. We provided them medical care and evacuated them to the hospital."
MDA EMT and Phlebotomist Yevgeny Finkelstein, who was the first to treat the injured at the scene: "I was there to conduct a blood drive taking place at the bus station. Suddenly, I received a call from the MDA dispatch reporting an injured person from the attack. I ran to her and treated her; then we were told there were other casualties, so we ran into the station and began medical treatment. They were then evacuated by MDA ambulances and mobile intensive care units to the hospital."
MDA paramedic Boris Mento: "We arrived quickly with large forces and saw a young woman lying unconscious, without pulse and not breathing. We conducted medical checks, but her injury was critical, and unfortunately, we had to declare her dead on scene. There was large chaos; injured individuals were entering shops. During a search by MDA teams, we saw several other injured; all were fully conscious and suffering from injuries. We provided them medical treatment that included stopping bleeding and administering pain relief, and we evacuated them by MDA mobile intensive care units to hospitals, in stable condition."
