Modiin - New MDA Station Building Inaugurated
A ceremony was held to inaugurate the new Magen David Adom (MDA) station building in the city of Modiin-Maccabim-Reut
The new MDA station will enable dozens of employees and hundreds of MDA volunteers to provide an even broader and more professional medical service to the residents of the city and the Modiin surrounds. The new building includes three training classrooms where life-saving techniques will be taught. At the ceremony, the ribbon was cut, and a mezuzah was affixed by the Mayor of Modiin-Maccabim-Reut and Chairman of the Local Government Center in Israel, Haim Bibas, along with the Director General of MDA, Eli Bin. As of yesterday's evening shift, the station is now operating from the new building, which was donated by the MDA Friends' Associations in the Netherlands and Switzerland.
The MDA station was first opened in Modiin in 1998 and operates an ambulance and a mobile intensive care unit (MICU) 24/7, in addition to a community-based MICU. Hundreds of MDA immediate response volunteers also operate in Modiin. During the 'Iron Swords' war, MDA volunteers from the Modiin area reinforced MDA regions in the north and south every week with approximately 100 teams.

It is only fitting that this organization, with its 1,200 volunteers from the city, should have a warm home in Modiin-Maccabim-Reut."
