Magen David Adom's National Human Milk Bank is summarizing its activity up to now, during the fourth week of The "Iron Swords" War.
The milk bank reports that over 600 liters of mother's milk have been provided to premature babies, babies who were orphaned, whose mothers were abducted or injured, or to babies of mothers who were recruited to the IDF, and to the emergency inventory in the hospitals throughout the country.
In addition to the veteran donors, around 200 new donors milk joined, alongside 700 additional mothers who are in the process of being accepted, and they too will begin donating soon.
Dr. Sharron Bransburg-Zabary, Director of Magen David Adom's National Human Milk Bank: "Because of the war, MDA's National Human Milk Bank has tripled its activity, and in addition to providing the routine milk, there has become an emergent need for safe mothers’ milk to nourish babies who have been orphaned, whose mothers have been abducted or injured, or for babies whose mothers were recruited to the IDF. We are working around the clock and recruiting around 700 new donors in order to gather around 1,000 liters of milk over the next few weeks in order to continue providing the infants and the premature babies the safest milk that stands up to the highest supervision levels and passes all the tests and procedures needed for their health."
