New MDA Station Opened in Hadassah Hospital
Magen David Adom dedicated a new satellite station in Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital
In a special ceremony, a new MDA satellite station was dedicated in the hospital grounds, near the inpatient building. Those present included Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Leon, Chairperson of the Hadassah management Dalia Itzik, Director General of Hadassah Prof. Yoram Weiss, MDA Director General Eli Bin and the MDA Jerusalem Region management team.
The idea of the new satellite station was initiated by the MDA Jerusalem Region and Hadassah Eik Kerem Medical Center management teams. An ambulance and a Mobile Intensive Care Unit (MICU) will be based at the station, helping to reduce MDA's response times in the west of Jerusalem and the surrounding towns.
Hadassah Director General, Prof. Yoram Weiss: "The establishment of this station here in Hadassah Ein Kerem is yet another step in the cooperation between Hadassah and MDA, and is a great leap forwards in reducing response times to the 200,000 residents who live in the area. Our cooperation with MDA has continued for decades, and I will not forget how, when I was a young doctor, an Intensive Care and Anesthesiology expert, I would join my colleagues in MDA throughout the years of the terror attacks in Jerusalem and assisted treatment in the field, accompanied the patients in the MICUs, over the years working side-by-side treating patients in the emergency room, in difficult circumstances and even throughout the Corona pandemic we've had terrific collaboration for the benefit of the residents of Jerusalem. We are now assessing integrating our doctors onto the ambulances, an idea that proved itself in an early pilot, and we are also working towards having a mobile CT that will attend patients suspected of strokes in their homes. Hadassah is one of the top 250 hospitals in the world, and this is thanks to its employees across all sectors, our leading human resource. Alongside them, and through cooperation with the Jerusalem Municipality and MDA, we will continue to provide a leading, excellent medical service to the people of Jerusalem."
Chair of the Board of Directors, Dalia Itzik: "MDA teams, those angels, who do their duty with a great deal of good will and professionalism, you are an extraordinary organization that continues to maintain very high standards in your activity over many years, and we are proud to work with you. I commend you and the Hadassah teams on this special day, you work together in one of Israel's most magnificent establishments, along with the Women of Hadassah who built this place. I hope we can all work together for the benefit of our patients."
Jerusalem Mayor, Moshe Leon: "This satellite station that we have built and are dedicating today, is the sole station in the west of the city that will provide a service to thousands of residents. We in Jerusalem are proud of Magen David Adom, who provide immediate and professional treatment to hundreds of thousands of people, and I promise to continue to support the expansion and development of both MDA and Hadassah, two vital organizations in Jerusalem.”
MDA Director General Eli Bin: "The changes that are being led by Hadassah Director General Prof. Yoram Weiss, along with the hospital manager Inon Buda, and Chair of the Board of Governors Dalia Itzik, are felt through the spirit of action in every field, and I thank them for their cooperation over many years. The station that we are dedicating today is yet another important layer in MDA's service to the people of Jerusalem and it will assist in conveying patients here, to a strategically placed hospital and has the facilities and staff that are able to care for even the most extreme of cases. In my vision we will be able to convey patients here by helicopter and we are working to advance this project, along with the mayor, the hospital management and other authorities. The connection between MDA and Hadassah has been built over many years, with professional work that is still developing, and looking forward to future joint projects."
