In memory of MDA Senior EMT Aharon Haimov z”l who was murdered on the black Saturday: 2 Defibrillators were given to Magen David Adom First Responders in Ofakim

A month after the black Saturday, a ceremony took place yesterday (Monday) at the MDA station in Ofakim in the memory of MDA Senior EMT Aharon Haimov z”l who was murdered by terrorist gunfire on the morning of Simchat Torah, while he was driving an ambulance, on his way to save lives.

His father in law and the manager of Ofakim MDA station, Dani Shtarkman, lit memorial candles at the memorial stand in the station. 2 defibrillators were given to First Responders from Ofakim MDA station. Using those defibrillators, the First Responders would be able to save lives in cases of cardiac arrest at any place they would be called to.

Aharon z”l started his way in Magen David Adom as a volunteer in his pre-army service year. After that, he finished his Senior EMT and his ambulance driver courses. During his 4 year career in MDA, Aharon was extremely professional, and showed great empathy for the people he treated. He worked as an EMT on ambulances on weekends and made sure he went out first for every call. Even on the black Saturday, in the height of the terror attack, Aharon went out to save lives and was murdered by the acts of terror.

Dani Shtarkman, head of MDA Ofakim station: “Aharon z”l was a devoted man who gave everything he had to save lives. He was a responsible and professional person, who always cared about the patients’ welfare before anything else. The giving of the defibrillators in his memory is a direct continuation of his way – of the sanctity of life. We all miss Aharon deeply, may he rest in peace."
