Thursday evening, 9th March, close to 20.40, several calls were received in MDA’s 101 Emergency Call Center of a number of victims of a shooting attack on Dizengoff Street, corner of Ben Gurion in Tel Aviv. MDA EMTs and Paramedics treated and conveyed 3 victims to Ichilov Hospital.

MDA Paramedic Sapir Iluz who lives above the site of the shooting heard the gunshots and provided life-saving treatment to the victims: “I heard gunshots from the balcony in my apartment that is very close to the scene of the terror attack. I immediately called MDA’s 101 Emergency Call Center. I waited until the shooting stopped so that I could go and provide treatment to the victims. I saw two victims lying outside a restaurant on a crosswalk, one of them, a 32 year old male, was unconscious. Military medics who were at the scene provided them with medical treatment, and I continued further up the street, while at the  same time I could hear gunshots. A few meters from the restaurant there was another victim, a 36 year old male with a moderate facial injury.  We provided life-saving medical treatment to the victims and conveyed them in MDA ambulances to hospital.”

MDA EMT Lee Ben Ari who lives on Dizengoff Street and heard the shooting: “I was at home when I heard the shooting and immediately went downstairs. There was a large commotion at the scene and I saw people running in all directions. A civilian who was fully conscious with a bleeding hand injury approached me and I immediately began medical treatment. A few moments later large numbers of MDA teams arrived at the scene and he was conveyed in stable condition to hospital by ambulance.”

MDA EMTs Dudi Moskovich and Lior Lipschitz who conveyed the critically injured patient to hospital: “We were on the ambulance on a nearby street when we received the call over the radio about the terror attack and immediately headed to the scene. We saw a 32 year old male victim lying unconscious with bullet wounds to his upper body. We immediately moved him to the ambulance and rushed him to hospital while performing CPR. The hospital doctors continued his treatment until his heart started beating, and he was then taken in critical condition to the operating room.”

MDA EMT Jonny Magralishvilli: “I arrived quickly on scene along with another ambulance crew and we saw the victims. The Other ambulance conveyed the unconscious patient and along with other EMTs we provided medical treatment to two victims, we placed them in the ambulance and conveyed them to hospital, with one in serious condition and the other in moderate condition."

Noam Assulin, MDA medicycle response unit EMT who treated and conveyed the victims: “I received the call as I left work and was quickly on scene with the MDA Medicycle. A 34 year old male who in serious condition with a shoulder injury was lying on the ground, and a 36 year old male with a facial injury was walking around on scene. Along with the ambulance EMT teams at the scene, we provided medical treatment that included controlling the bleeding and bandaging, while conveying them to hospital.”
