Magen David Adom EMT Shirel Amitay chosen to receive annual President's award for National Service excellence

In a ceremony held at the President's residence, in the presence of The President of the State of Israel, Mr. Isaac Herzog, dozens of National Service volunteers received an award for excellence. Among them - Shirel Amitay - an MDA EMT and 101 Dispatch Center operator.

Shirel, 20, a resident of Bnei Ayish, is in her second year of National Service. Her first year she served as an EMT on front-line ambulances, and during her second year she has been working in MDA's 101 Dispatch Center. "Shirel is assertive and professional and performs her duties in the best possible way," said Haim Karadi, Regional Manager of MDA's Lachish Region. "She assists others, is very sensitive to people's needs, and provides a rapid, professional service to the public."

MDA Director General Eli Bin congratulated the award recipient: "Magen David Adom is an organization that is first and foremost based around its human assets, who provide the best service to the public - professional, fast and efficient. Shirel's award is a prime example and a seal of honor for her contribution and activities in saving lives. We congratulate Shirel and are proud of her win."

MDA EMT Shirel Amitay: "During this week we have met Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, and visited the President's residence to receive the award. I was very surprised to be informed that I had been chosen. It isn't something to be taken for granted to be chosen from among the many National Service volunteers in Magen David Adom. It gives me the strength to keep pushing forwards and succeed in what I do at MDA. It was very emotional to represent MDA at the ceremony, and a source of great pride for me."
