New Gan Yavne Station Dedicated

The new MDA station in Gan Yavne, sponsored by MDAUK and Italian Friends of Magen David Adom, was dedicated in a ceremony attended by over 150 people. 

In a ceremony held in front of over 150 attendees, the new station in Gan Yavne was officially opened and dedicated. Among the guests were representatives from the two Friends' Societies who funded the new building - MDAUK, including CEO Daniel Burger, and Italian Friends of MDA, headed by Sami Sisa. 

An ambulance that will be stationed in Gan Yavne that was also donated through the Italian Friends Society in memory of Rabbi Elia Richetti was also dedicated at the event. 

Senior members of MDA management, including Deputy Director General for Community, Dr. Eli Jaffe, Lachish Regional Director Haim Karadi, Director of the Buildings Department Ami Evgi also attended the event. Dror Aharon, mayor of Gan Yavne spoke of the importance of Magen David Adom across Israel, and the many lives saved by MDA's staff and volunteers in the area. International representatives included the Italian Ambassador to Israel, Mr. Sergio Barbanti, and bilateral attaché at the British Embassy Mr. Jacob Jones. 

The rabbi of Gan Yavne, Rabbi David Cohen, placed the first mezuza, and blessed the station as well as its staff and volunteers, before the ribbon was cut to officially open the station. 

MDA Youth volunteers from Gan Yavne held an incredible drill portraying a multi-casualty incident, showcasing their abilities and MDA's rapid treatment and life-saving capabilities. 

Deputy Director General for Community, Dr. Eli Jaffe: "Magen David Adom's life-saving abilities are comprised of many types of donations - some donate stations, others donate ambulances, and our volunteers donate their time. Together, we are a strong team able to save lives across Israel."
