Home Delivery - with a Special Invitation
An MDA team called to the Hoffbauer home in Alon Shvut last week found Shifra in advanced labor.
MDA Paramedics Moshe Benita and Idit Zehavi, and MDA EMT Galia Shneid realized that Shifra was about to give birth and there was no time to get to hospital, so the decision was made with Shifra and her husband Daniel to deliver the baby at home. Ilan, as he would be named, arrived an hour later.
A few days later, the MDA team received an invitation to the Brit ceremony, which Idit attended. "It was very moving. It's the first time I've been invited to the Brit of a baby that I've delivered in my 25 years in MDA. It's very touching to meet the family again, especially at a celebration."
"My husband Daniel called MDA so we could get to hospital, but when we realized that I would have to deliver at home, I was a little scared. When I met MDA's amazing team, I was immediately calmer. The delivery was incredible, they helped me bring my son into the world, and it was a special, emotional moment for me. Thank you to the incredible, experienced team. I can only wish that every woman in labor meets them."
