Knesset Member Idan Roll (Yesh Atid) visited the National Operations Center of Magen David Adom in Kiryat Ono today (Thursday), and met with MDA Director General Eli Bin and senior organization officials, during the Swords of Iron War.

MK Roll learned about the organization's activities during wartime and emergencies, conducted a comprehensive tour of the 101 emergency center, met with MDA teams who save lives amidst Red Alert Sirens and rocket fire throughout the country, and heard the stories of the paramedics and EMT from the Gaza border and Sderot who provided medical treatment under live gun and rocket-fire in the early moments of the conflict. He also heard tales of heroism about MDA personnel who risked their lives while delivering medical assistance.

MK Idan Roll stated: "I came to MDA to strengthen and support the heroic work of the organization on the terrible day of October 7th. Magen David Adom forces entered the turmoil and acted bravely to save lives. After the IDF blocked access to the Gaza envelope, MDA forces continued to transport the wounded to hospitals across the country, on land and in the air, providing hope to hundreds who turned to the center knowing that help was on its way. I heard recorded conversations that broke my heart, where operators calmly explained to children how to hide from the cursed terrorists. Other casualties were supported for hours on the line to keep them alive. On that cursed day, three of their forces were killed while fulfilling their duties: Aharon Hayimov, an MDA EMT from Ofakim, Amit Mann, a MDA paramedic from Kibbutz Be'eri, and Aviya Hetzroni, a MDA volunteer from Kibbutz Be'eri. I send my heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and their colleagues at MDA. May their memory be blessed."

MDA Director General Eli Bin said: "I thank Knesset Member Idan Roll for coming to our national center during the conflict to strengthen and support the Magen David Adom teams who save lives around the clock and work under emergency conditions, often risking their lives. Magen David Adom teams are spread throughout the country during the Swords of Iron conflict, in large, reinforced forces, to provide first aid and medical assistance even under challenging and complex terrain conditions, and while risking their lives."
