"Magen David Adom fulfils a significant role in the health system - they are a symbol of skill and efficiency"

Director General Eli Bin and Operations Deputy Director General Gil Moshkowitz welcomed the medical advisors of the Lema'anam organization - chairperson and Presidential Award winner Yossi Erblich, president of the organization Prof. Yosef Peretz and his deputy Dr. Gadi Neumann - to the National Operations Center in Kiryat Ono. They were given a presentation on MDA's wide-ranging activities, as well as the MDA response that is provided 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, for more than 90 years. They were also briefed on MDA's activities in relation to the Covid pandemic.

As part of the visit to the Center, that is protected from earthquakes and rocket attacks, they were shown the "Chain of Survival" developed by MDA, that begins when a call is received and through to when the patient is conveyed to hospital. The state-of-the-art system also has translation abilities, is coordinated with Waze for traffic reports, and is totally synchronized with Israel Police and the Fire and Rescue Department.

The visitors were shown the vast array of special response vehicles such as boats, ATVs, medicycles, jeeps, electric bicycles and mini electric response vehicles, as well as a bus intended for multi-casualty events.

MDA senior managers also showed them the new, underground blood services center - the first of its kind - that's located in the MDA Center, Ramle, and will provide an overall response to the needs of the Israeli health system.

Yossi Erblich said after the visit: "I knew of MDA's activities, but only after this visit did I understand the scope of those activities. MDA fills a vital role in the Israeli health system and we need to make it possible for MDA to expand it activities, due the skill and efficiency that it shows, as we saw during the Covid pandemic with the extreme pressures they faced, and they are worthy of a great deal of praise."

MDA Director General, Eli Bin: "We were pleased to host the medical advisors of the Lema'anam organization, volunteers whose entire aim is to help the sick. We were very pleased to show them MDA's activities, as well as the use of the most advanced life-saving technology in the world."
