About four months ago, while Matoi Kaminobrodsky (90) was celebrating in an events hall in Kiryat Ekron, he suddenly suffered a cardiac arrest and collapsed. An MDA team led by Senior EMT Haim Henfling and EMTs Meir Hanau and Yossi Winter arrived at the hall about a minute after the phone call to MDA's 101 Emergency Call Center and began providing medical treatment and performing CPR during which he gave 3 electric shocks with a device that saved Matoi's life.

Last week, a special meeting took place in Kiryat Ekron in which Matoi, his son and daughter and his 2 granddaughters met the MDA team again - this time with a big smile and gratitude.

Lena Refailov, Matoi's granddaughter, said: "The meeting was very special and emotional, thanks to the MDA teams my grandfather got to celebrate his 90th birthday this year. Without the speed of response and professionalism - the situation would have been different and we would not be celebrating here. A huge thank you to the angels in white.

Senior EMT at the MDA Haim Henfling said: "That evening we were on duty in the ambulance and arrived at the event hall in a matter of seconds. There is no doubt that thanks to the defibrillator Matoi is still here with us, smiling and happy. Meeting with him was simply amazing closure. I've been an MDA EMT for over 20 years and treated countless people, but an event like this fills us with strength and energy to continue saving lives."
