Meeting MDA EMTs, paramedics who have made Aliya
Nine Magen David Adom paramedics and EMTs attended a conference of Ofek Israeli - a government organization encouraging Aliya (immigration) to Israel. They each presented their personal stories to the 100 Aliya emissaries from the Jewish Agency and the World Zionist Organisation at the gathering that took place in the port city of Ashdod.
MDA's Disaster Management and EU Projects Coordinator Chaim Rafalowski opened the session and gave a presentation about Magen David Adom and its activities in Israel and across the world.
Among the MDA staff who presented on stage were Meira Abramowitz, an MDA volunteer from the Lachish Region who moved to Israel from Brooklyn in 2011, and David Nica who works in MDA's National Operations Center in Kiryat Ono. He made Aliya from Hungary ten years ago. The two told their stories of settling and finding their place in Israel, alongside working and volunteering in MDA.
Several MDA vehicles and pieces of equipment were presented outside the event, including ambulances, MICUs, medicycles, an incident response vehicle and other specialized equipment.
