MDA Volunteers Collect Food for Needy

22.03.2023 13:49

For almost 20 years, MDA volunteers have collected food for Passover for needy families

Operation "Kimcha Depischa" (Flour for Passover) that has become a Magen David Adom tradition, is in its 19th year. Thousands of MDA volunteers, including Youth Volunteers, have come together to collect food for needy families, to ensure that they can celebrate Passover. The project, that takes place until the day before Passover begins, is in partnership with welfare departments and municipalities across Israel.

MDA volunteers will be outside supermarkets and stores, collecting food supplies in order to give to families who cannot afford it themselves.

Food products collected include, matza, wine, grape juice, oil, sugar, spreads, tea and coffee, kosher for Passover cakes and cookies, and fruits and vegetables.

"Once again this year, MDA volunteers will do all they can to collect food and other goods for families in need," said MDA Director General Eli Bin. MDA as a life-saving organization is deeply engrossed in Israeli life, and being an integral part of Israeli society is extremely important to us. We are in constant contact with welfare departments across Israel throughout the year, but especially around the festivals. This is humanitarian aid at its most vital."
