The ceremony of introducing a Torah scroll into the 'Magen David' synagogue in the Magen David Adom headquarters building in Or Yehuda took place on Sunday May 23. The festive ceremony was held with the participation of Rabbi Masoud Ben Shimon, the Sephardic Chief Rabbi of Bnei Brak, MDA Director General Eli Bin, the CEO of the Friends of MDA Association in Israel and senior MDA officials.

During the ceremony of bringing in the new Torah book donated by friends of MDA in Israel and with the participation of MDA employees and volunteers, the writing of the last letters took place and there was also a festive procession accompanied by singing and dancing around the MDA headquarters building, with the participation of the organization's employees and volunteers, guests and other dignitaries.

After writing the last letters in the new Torah book, Rabbi Masoud ben Shimon blessed and added: "G-d gave us the Torah for our benefit, that's why the children of Israel said let's do, before we hear." I think that each of you MDA people does what is done before what is heard. Accepts the call and doesn't know what he's heading towards, but he says let's do it, it's a wonderful acceptance of dedicated Jews in the MDA. The Almighty wanted us to keep the Torah and the mitzvot, but also to care for people, and whoever fulfills this mitzvah of reviving a soul - the Almighty will grant you, and fulfill all your wishes. Mazal Tov!"

At the dedication of the synagogue, about 3 years ago, Rav Shlomo Amar, the Sepharadi Chief Rabbi, wrote the first verse in the Torah scroll,  and added: "It is a great day that Magen David Adom opens its doors in the new building by placing a mezuzah on the gates of the synagogue. You strive with special dedication to reach everywhere to save souls and to save lives."

About 3 years ago, the Magen David synagogue was inaugurated in the organization's headquarters building in Or Yehuda, where many employees and volunteers pray, alongside the general public who visit its gates every day. The synagogue was named "Magen David" and was built thanks to the contribution of Dr. Bruno and his wife Mrs. Aliza Leloche from France through the MDA Friends Association in France.

The CEO of the Friends of MDA Association in Israel, Mrs. Orli Ariel: "The friends of Magen David Adom from all over the country dedicate the Torah book to the MDA teams, for the preservation and success of their activities for the sake of saving lives. I thank the donors for their emotional contribution, along with their ongoing support for the operational activities of Magen David Adom."

MDA Director General Eli Bin: "I am particularly excited to take part in the inauguration of the new Torah scroll, the contribution of a Friends of MDA in Israel as well as MDA employees and volunteers. We thank Rabbi Masoud Ben Shimon, the chief rabbi of the city of Bnei Brak who honored with his participation at the introduction of the Torah Scroll the Friends of MDA in Israel for the generous and moving donation for the employees and volunteers of the organization. Deepening the connection between the body and the soul will help the people of the organization - who save lives every day. With God's help, we will soon inaugurate another large and respectable synagogue in Kiryat MDA - With many Torah scrolls."
