MK Osher Shekalim visits MDA

Member of the Health Committee, MK Osher Shekalim (Likud), visited the Magen David Adom national call center in Kiryat Ono and met MDA Director General Eli Bin and senior officials of the organization. Member of Knesset Shekalim heard about the organization's activities, conducted a comprehensive tour of the 101 emergency call center and got to know in depth the extensive activity led by MDA as Israel's national rescue organization.
MK Shekalim was interested in the integration of the ultra-Orthodox in volunteering and working in MDA, in the capabilities of the upgraded helicopter array, in the organization's intensive care boat that operates in the Sea of Galilee, in the MDA boat that operates on the beaches of Eilat, and in the several types of special immediate response vehicles. MK Shekalim received an overview of the first aid courses that MDA runs for the general public, learned about the chain of survival in the event of a cardiac arrest and was very interested in MDA's public access defibrillators project. In addition, the MK learned about the "MDA in the Community" project, which is expected to reduce by dozens of percent the loads in the emergency rooms and heard about MDA's developed technologies.
