43 new Medicycles join MDA's rapid response unit

Magen David Adom dedicated 43 new Medicycles, the aim being to reduce response times and improve MDA's medical response. The new Medicycles will operate from Beer Sheva, Ashkelon, Bat Yam, G'dera, the Golan, Gush Dan, Hadera, Holon, Haifa, Jerusalem, Migdal Haemek, Neve Yerek, Netanya, Petach Tikva, the Krayot, Kiryat Gat, and are already saving lives.

MDA's Medicycle Unit was established in 2002 and has around 550 2 and 3-wheeled Medicycles, including heavy bikes that undergo specialist adaptation for use by MDA, in order to provide rapid first aid in the field. The Medicycle has a specialized equipment unit, siren, and is painted bright yellow in order to be seen better on the roads during an emergency.

MDA Director General Eli Bin: "The dozens of new Medicycles join the hundreds of others spread across Israel and that are saving lives every hour of every day. The new medicycles will assist in reducing response times, and will allow to reach those in need of medical aid even faster. We will continue working towards improving our response times, for the benefit of the general public."
