Yair Lapid MK visits Magen David Adom
"Iron Swords" War – Former Prime Minister and Leader of the Opposition Yair Lapid, with Members of Knesset Mazarsky and Lahav-Hertzano in Magen David Adom:
"MDA is a system that operated on October 7th. We need to learn from it, see how we use this experience"
Former Prime Minister and Leader of the Opposition MK Yair Lapid, MK Tatiana Mazarsky and MK Yorai Lahav-Hertzano (Yesh Atid) visited Magen David Adom’s National Operations Center in Kiryat Ono, and met with MDA Director General Eli Bin and senior members of the management team, in the shadows of the “Iron Swords” war.
The Leader of the Opposition and the Members of the Knesset heard a review of the organization’s activities during the war and emergency times, conducted a comprehensive tour of the 101 Emergency Call Center, received a review of MDA’s Blood Services, met MDA teams saving lives across the country, and heard the stories of the EMTs and Paramedics who are residents in the south and the Western Negev who provided medical treatment under rocket and gunfire during the first moments of the war. They also heard stories of heroism of the MDA personnel who sacrificed their lives while providing medical treatment.
Former Prime Minister and Leader of the Opposition MK Yair Lapid: “Most people try to repress terrible news in the first moments. This is what happened to the country during the first hours of October 7th. This didn’t happen to MDA because they are, perhaps more than any other group, used to the most terrible possibilities. They understand that sometimes the worst happens. MDA is a system that operated on October 7th. We need to learn this system, see how we can use this experience. We need to something else: to say thank you. For the lives saved, for the dedication, for the fact they are who they are.”
MDA Director General Eli Bin: “I thank the Leader of the Opposition MK Yair Lapid, as well as MKs Mazarsky and Lahav-Hertzano for visiting us at the National Operations Center in order to strengthen and support the MDA teams who save lives around the clock, acting in emergency conditions, under fire, and while risking their own lives. MDA teams are prepared across the country since the outbreak of the “Iron Swords” war in increased numbers, in order to provide first aid to the citizens of Israel, and help the IDF with any medical need they might have.”
