Shirly Pinto MK (Yemina), member of the Health Committee, visited Magen David Adom's National Operations Center in Kiryat Ono. She was accompanied on her visit by Director General Eli Bin and other members of MDA's management team. She was shown the NOC, was given an overview of MDA's wide ranging activities in its role as Israel's National Rescue Service. 

MK Pinto was introduced to the many different technological innovations in Magen David Adom, as well as the dispatching system used for first responders. She heard about some of the unique vehicles used by MDA, such as the Mini Electric Response Vehicles (MERVs), Medicycles, electric bicycles, helicopters, Blood mobiles, Intensive Care buses and the Boat-ambulance used on the Sea of Galilee. She was shown the widespread use of public access defibrillators and the Smart Stands that are operated remotely by the dispatch center in cases of cardiac arrest, allowing the general public to be a vital link in the chain of survival. 

During her visit, MK Pinto showed a keen interest in the technology that allows the disabled to call on MDA's services, including the MyMDA app, as well as the MDA in the Community project. This project aims to reduce the pressures on MDA and on the Emergency Departments. She also heard about plans to further improve the service and bring greater equality to the public.
