Meir Cohen MK visits the National Medical Dispatch Center
"The people of Magen David Adom are doing holy work, always arriving first, and always on the front line."
Meir Cohen, MK (Yesh Atid), Minister of Labor, Social Affairs and Social Services, visited MDA's National Medical Dispatch Center (NMDC) in Kiryat Ono. The Minister met with Director General Eli Bin, who briefed the MK on the challenges faced by MDA in routine and crisis periods, as well as the battle against corona. The Minister was introduced to MDA's operations and the chain of survival from the moment a call is received at the NMDC through to the patient being evacuated to hospital, using the latest in health technology.
During his visit to the NMDC, the Minister expressed an interest in MDA in the Community program that will help reduce pressure in the Emergency Departments, as well as plans to improve services and reduce social gaps in Israeli society. He was shown the AED Smart-Stand and the spread of defibrillators across the country, that help reduce the time taken to respond to cases of Cardiac Arrest.
MK Meir Cohen: "I want to thank the people of MDA who do holy work, always arrive first and are always on the front line. As someone who grew up in the periphery, when I used to see an MDA ambulance in Yeruham or Dimona, I always had a feeling of security, knowing that we weren't alone. This is your story, and the Zionist story, that you are everywhere - in the center of the country as well as outlying areas, and we will continue to cooperate with you to ensure the safety and security of the people of Israel."
MDA Director General Eli Bin: "I thank Minister Cohen for long-lasting cooperation and his support of Magen David Adom. The Minister gave of his time today to become better acquainted with our activities that benefit Israeli society, and met with our dedicated staff who lead the organization from the front. I thank him for his constant concern for each citizen and for his extended assistance to our operations."
