Father and Daughter Bring New Life into the World

09.03.2022 09:52

A father and daughter team delivered a baby in Atlit, in the north of Israel

Michael Kazan, a volunteer EMT with MDA, and his daughter Ya'ara who is a volunteer Paramedic, were called in the early hours of the morning to a woman in labor in the northern Israeli town of Atlit. Michael and Ya'ara, themselves residents of the town, were on standby with an ambulance at home when the call came in. They quickly arrived at the scene and found the woman to be in advanced stages of labor. They delivered the baby, and within moments the house was filled with joyful sounds of a newborn cry.

Several days later, Michael and Ya'ara received a small gift from the woman and her husband with a note attached: "We don't have the words that could describe our gratitude to you. You turned the most stressful and challenging moment in our lives to the happiest moment! Thank you for everything."

"As soon as Ya'ara and Michael appeared, we knew we were in the best hands," added the parents. "We're certain that young Ya'ara will go far!"

Michael, and his daughter Ya'ara: "As part of volunteering with MDA, we operate an ambulance from home in order to improve response times. This is what happened on this occasion too, and this time we brought new life into the world. As soon as we entered the house we began treatment, and in just a few moments we heard the emotional sound of the cute baby girl who had just been born. Then we cut the cord along with her excited father."
