Dubai plays host to MDA
In a first of its kind, French-speaking European MDA Friends' Societies held a charity dinner in Dubai.
Maguen David Adom France held an event for 150 delegates, but the main surprise was the location.
Maguen David Adom France held a gala event, with representatives of MDA from Israel, hosted French and Belgian and Luxembourg friends’ societies, at the Dubai Expo. The 150 delegates and representatives met with leaders of the Jewish community, the Israeli ambassador to Dubai and other dignitaries.
In a first of its kind, a gala charity dinner was also held while in Dubai, where the donors from the three countries heard about the next big project – The new Magen David Adom Paramedic School that is to be built in Israel.
Those present included Deputy Director Generals Dr. Rafi Strugo (Medical) who spoke about the history of MDA and looked to future challenges, and Dr. Eilat Shinar (Blood Services), who spoke about the importance of the soon to be opened new blood bank. Alongside those from Israel, leaders of the French-speaking European MDA Friends’ Associations were also in attendance, led by Managing Director Victor Wintz.
