A Significant Donation to MDA Teams: An Ambulance and 750 New Vests
The International Fellowship of Christians and Jews (IFCJ) has donated 750 ceramic body armor vests, valued at approximately $500,000, to protect Magen David Adom teams responding to some of Israel’s most dangerous emergencies. The donation, which also includes a new ambulance for MDA’s Ashkelon Station, strengthens the ability of EMTs and paramedics to reach patients and provide lifesaving care even when the scene itself remains a threat.
When an emergency call comes in, Magen David Adom teams do not always have the luxury of waiting for danger to pass.
During terrorist attacks, rocket strikes and other security incidents, EMTs and paramedics may be required to enter hazardous environments to reach the wounded, begin treatment and evacuate patients to safety. Throughout the war, MDA teams have repeatedly responded to such scenes, at times operating while threats remained active around them.
Now, 750 new ceramic body armor vests donated by the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews (IFCJ) will provide additional protection to the MDA teams carrying out that work.
Valued at approximately $500,000, the protective vests will be distributed to MDA teams nationwide and are designed to provide protection against gunfire and other threats during high-risk emergency responses. By better protecting medical personnel, the equipment helps ensure that MDA teams can continue reaching patients when every moment matters.
The donation comes alongside a new MDA ambulance designated for Ashkelon, a city where emergency medical teams have faced the realities of responding under rocket fire and during periods of heightened security threats.
The ambulance was inaugurated at a ceremony held at the MDA Complex in Ramla and will now join MDA’s operational fleet in Ashkelon, strengthening emergency medical response in the city and surrounding communities.
Both the ambulance and protective vests were donated by IFCJ with the assistance of the Israeli Friends of MDA, continuing a longstanding partnership focused on strengthening Israel’s emergency medical response and providing MDA teams with the resources needed to carry out their lifesaving mission.
The protective equipment represents a particularly important investment following the experience of the war, during which MDA personnel repeatedly responded to complex and dangerous scenes to treat the wounded. For the EMTs and paramedics entering those environments, personal protective equipment is not simply another piece of gear; it helps make it possible for them to reach the people waiting for medical care.
