The "Lifesaving Lawyers" forum, in which about 100 members of the Israel Bar Association who volunteer at Magen David Adom decided to take action and named the forum after the late Moti Ben Shabbat, who became a symbol of heroism and courage for saving lives after he was killed while rescuing a family trapped in a flood in Nahariya.

The Israel Bar Association, through the Social Division, awarded the Life Saving Lawyers Forum with an outstanding achievement award in recognition of their volunteer activities in Israeli society and to encourage their continued activities.
