MDA runs 291 Public Education Stands on National Defibrillator Day
Cooperation between Magen David Adom and Mifal Hapayis leads to huge numbers of public training stations
Magen David Adom, in conjunction with Mifal Hapayis, marked National Defibrillator Awareness Day in Israel, on February 21st, 2023. The annual event was the largest ever, with MDA staff and volunteers, in particular youth volunteers, opening over 291 public education stands throughout the country.
The stands were placed in public locations such as shopping malls, parks, main streets, medical centers and Mifal Hapayis lottery booths.
Thousands of volunteers spent the day teaching members of the public about the importance of early CPR and early defibrillation, showing the ease with which a defibrillator can be used, even by someone with no medical training, and encouraging people to learn how to save lives.
Several thousand residents and tourists attended the public education stands throughout Israel, and left with new knowledge and skills that will help them if they find someone in cardiac arrest, to be able to save their lives.
