Taking Life Saving on the Road

Magen David Adom took a caravan filled with CPR training stands to the center of Tel Aviv

A CPR marathon session arranged by Magen David Adom took place in Dizengoff Square in the center of Tel Aviv.

As part of the National Defibrillator Awareness Day, held in conjunction with Mifal Hapayis, the caravan headed to the busy streets of Tel Aviv with the aim of teaching as many people as possible how to save lives in 3 easy steps:

1. Call MDA on 101

2. Start performing chest compressions

3. Locate and use a defibrillator.

Hundreds of people took the opportunity to lear, with the oldest member of the public who trained at the caravan was 70 years old, while the youngest was just two and a half, who put all her energy into doing the best chest compressions she could!

MDA has placed over 600 public access smart defibrillator stands on Mifal Hapayis lottery booths around Israel, and a total of over 1,300 of these stands are placed in easily accessible areas throughout the country. MDA also has a map of the location of thousands of other defibrillator locations, all aimed at saving lives as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Throughout the day, Magen David Adom operated:

291 public education stalls

1,000 volunteers

Over 700 training mannikins

Over 600 training defibrillators

Hundreds of members of the public were trained just in the Tel Aviv caravan, with thousands more across Israel now able to help save lives.
