Magen David Adom headed to towns and cities all across Israel, and met with mayors of many of the local authorities who were involved in the National Defibrillator Awareness Day. 

Mayors of places as far apart as Eilat in the far south, to Afula and Karmiel in the north, took part in the training sessions, where they learnt about the importance of public access defibrillators in the chain of survival. Early CPR and access to the life-saving device are key in raising the numbers of lives saved in cases of sudden cardiac arrest. 

Municipalities across Israel joined the project, sharing life-saving tips and advice on their social media sites, as well as allowing for training sessions to take place in areas that are open to the public. 

Many towns and cities took the opportunity to thank the MDA teams for their part in saving lives on a daily basis, while encouraging their residents to attend the training sessions that were held in many places.
