Dozens of new volunteers from the Druze community joined MDA's ranks

A ceremony was held in Rama - a Druze village in the north of Israel - to mark the end of training for dozens of new Magen David Volunteers who completed their EMT and First Aider qualifications. The courses were held in collaboration between MDA and the non-profit organization Keshet Lahaim. MDA are holding recruitment days with a view to holding further courses in Druze towns in the north.

Keshet Lahaim encourages young members of the Druze community to volunteer and integrate better within their communities, and works with MDA's blood services to organize blood donation days among the local population.

Wajdi Farhud - Chair of Keshet Lahaim: "As far as I'm concerned, this ceremony is a festive day. The cooperation between our organization and MDA is proving to be very successful. This is the first time it has happened, and will help provide an excellent service to the villages in the area and improve response times. This is just the first of many courses that will take place in the future. I'd like to thank MDA's management team for a their successful cooperation, and wish both organizations much success in the future."

MDA Asher Regional Manager, Eli Peretz: "Along with the advanced medical equipment, the beating heart of Magen David Adom are its people. Their quality and professionalism proves itself every day on the front lines. I'd like to thank Keshet Lahaim and its leadership for their cooperation, and congratulate the dozens of newly qualified first aiders and EMTs from the Druze villages who have completed their training and now join MDA's ranks. We are certain that with their help we will further improve the medical response to the local communities."
