Bank Leumi employees were trained in MDA as Life Guardians
Bank Leumi recently issued a "Call for Proposals" to the company's employees on their new campus in Lod, with the aim of training them as "Life Guardians" with Magen David Adom.
This week, two training sessions were completed with approximately 50 employees of the bank successfully completing the program.
Graduates of the program completed an intensive program in which they learned to perform CPR on children and adults, will provide an initial medical response to emergencies based on their location. At the graduation ceremony, the employees received personal certificates, a resuscitation kit and a “Life Guardians” identification vest.
The idea behind the "Life Guardians" initiative is that every citizen who has undergone 20 hours of basic first aid training be able to perform basic resuscitation operations on a patient with a heart attack - thus increasing the chances of saving his life. A special MDA locator system that works using a cellular application locates all Life Guardians who are closest to the location of a patient in need of resuscitation, as reported to the MDA dispatch center, and will dispatch them at the same time as Magen David Adom teams are dispatched. This is while the EMTs and Paramedics in the dispatch center are providing telephone guidance until an MDA ambulance arrives at the scene. Due to the high response of Bank Leumi employees, additional MDA courses are planned for the bank employees.
MDA Director General Eli Bin: "We thank the management of Bank Leumi and the company's employees, who hold the value of saving lives as a top priority and underwent professional training and joined the " Life Guardians" community. In an emergency, the graduates of the course know how to provide a medical response in the field, in the first moments until the arrival of MDA teams - and thus save lives thanks to the knowledge they acquired.
