The Blood Donation Array Dominates the Country
Employees and volunteers of the Magen David Adom blood donation department worked tirelessly during the outbreak of the Corona virus in Israel, made special adjustments to the donation process to maintain the safety of donors, came to every corner of the country to increase donations and extended hours to raise as many life-saving donations as possible.
Their success was also made possible thanks to the strong ties of the blood services' teams with the heads of the local authorities in Israel, and their ability to mobilize entire cities for blood donation activities, helping others and doing kindness. Thus, in difficult times and under difficult conditions, the blood donation teams managed to maintain a proper national blood supply, continued to supply blood to the hospitals and the Israel Defense Forces and helped save thousands of sick, injured and mothers.
Today, with the Corona almost behind us, it's time to reap the fruits of their labor. Representatives of the department, met with mayors and councils and asked to thank them for their volunteering.
Moti Sasson, the mayor of Holon, receives the MDA Heritage Book and a certificate of appreciation after the residents of his city donated 750 units of blood.
These days, members of the blood donation department continue to hold meetings and thank the partners for the way in which many lives were saved in Israel during the period of the outbreak of the Corona, during Operation Guardians of the Walls and during the difficult period that Israel went through during these months.
