01.03.2021 12:12

Walla Tamimi and Ahmad Karut, MDA volunteers at the Jerusalem station, found themselves - without prior acquaintance - sharing several shifts at the Corona-sampling complex at the beginning of the crisis. At first, the relationship was purely professional, but a few weeks later Ahmed made the first move. About a week ago, at the exact same station where we first met, the two got engaged.

Before the Corona crisis, Walla and Ahmad, 26, used to volunteer as EMTs in MDA ambulances. During the Corona crisis, the organization's medical staffs were required to perform, in addition to routine activities, Coronary virus identification samples, as part of the organization's national fight against the pandemic. Together Walla and Ahmad - and within a few weeks as mentioned became a couple

This week, after months of a happy relationship full of swabs and samples, Ahmed decided to propose marriage to Walla in the exact same place where they first met, at MDA station in Jerusalem. Walla accepted the proposal, and now the engaged couple began planning the happy day, which will probably take place outside MDA Station."

Walla Tamimi, the newly engaged, said excitedly: "We met at the sampling site, at first we did not have a close relationship but slowly I noticed that he was trying to approach me and buy me chocolates and gifts. A mutual friend at work hinted that Ahmed likes me and  I decided to give him a chance. It really worked."

On the common fate and significant step, Ahmad Karut added: “For me MDA is a very important body. Ever since I was a child, every ambulance that has passed on the street has moved me and I knew my goal was to help others and save lives. I never dreamed I would find my future wife on duty. I decided to close the circle and propose marriage in the same framework in which we knew, in order to create a special and exciting memory for a lifetime - which includes our important role."
