MDAs Wish Ambulance helped 13 year old Nachman's dream come true, to learn how to save a life.
Nachman Lugasi (13) from Ramat Gan, is nowadays recovering from a malignant disease, became a one-day MDA volunteer, when he arrived MDA's central- national dispatch in Kiryat Onno, and learnt how to save a life.
The special day started at Nachman's home, where the MDA Wish Ambulance picked him up to the central dispatch, there he went through a tour in the 101 emergency calls dispatch (Israeli "911" dispatch), learnt about the life saving technologies of MDA and learnt how to save a life using a defibrillator from an ambulance crew, the EMT Jacob Rosenfeld and the paramedic Amit Weiss.
At the end, the MDA crew encouraged him to join MDA as a volunteer when he turns 15, and to join the community and save lives on the ambulances and on the intensive care units (paramedic unit) in the future.
Nachman lugasi: "During my therapy sessions at the hospital, I met a lot of MDA volunteers that really helped me go through the sessions. I decided that I also want to help other people and I chose to bring love and help to the community. I asked MDA to help me make my dream come true.
I'm really interested the field of medicine, and I thank MDA for the opportunity to learn and for the tour, I hope for the opportunity to help more in the future when I'll become a volunteer."
