MDA Defibrillator Stationed in the Local Council Building in Jadeidi-Makr

14.01.2020 12:51

Last week a celebratory event took place in the offices of the local council building in Jadeidi Makr. During the event, an MDA defibrillator was inaugurated and deployed in the council building, and all the council workers passed training on how to administer first aid and CPR with the help of the defibrillator.

Michael Yohanov, Paramedic in MDA Asher region, and MDA Senior Medic Sameeh Abd Elkader who lives in Jadeidi Makr told: “As a part of MDA’s national project to deploy defibrillators in public places and shorten the response time in the event of cardiac arrest, we, as a region, decided to install a defibrillator in the council building in Jadeidi Makr. Defibrillators save lives, and it is important to raise awareness and knowledge on how to use it throughout the country. We are continuing to contact additional councils in the MDA Asher Region in order to deploy more defibrillators and to teach as many people how, with the help of a defibrillator, to save a life in the event of cardiac arrest.”

Head of The Local Council of Jadeidi Makr, Suhil Milhem: “In the name of all of the residents of the council I want to thank MDA for its cooperation in the stationing of the defibrillator in the Local Council Building and for the professional training that was given. Undoubtedly, after such an interesting training session, we know how to react in emergency situations and especially know how to save lives.”

MDA Director General Eli Bin: “The deployment of the defibrillator in the local council building in Jadeidi Makr and in other councils throughout the country, is really for the public in the State Of Israel. In the event of a person who is stricken with cardiac arrest and collapses, citizens without prior medical knowledge, with the guidance of the medics in MDA’s 101 Emergency Dispatch Center, can go and quickly bring the closest defibrillator, and to administer a life saving electric shock to the patient. This, in the initial and critical minutes until the arrival of MDA’s teams to the scene, is what saves lives. I thank the head of the council Mr. Suhil Milhem, for the cooperation, and hope to continue with the wide deployment of defibrillators throughout the country, in order to save lives.”
