Since the beginning of Operation “Roaring Lion”: Magen David Adom teams are at peak readiness and have provided medical treatment to 89 lightly injured casualties
With the launch of Operation “Roaring Lion” and the declaration of a Special Emergency Situation on the Home Front this morning (Saturday, 28.2 at 08:20), Magen David Adom raised its alert level to the maximum. All MDA ambulances, Mobile Intensive Care Units (MICUs), emergency medicycles, and rapid response vehicles were fully staffed, and all 39,000 employees and volunteers of the organization were mobilized to provide fast and efficient medical response to any need.
Magen David Adom teams were dispatched to provide medical treatment at several scenes, arriving in very large numbers of ambulances, Mobile Intensive Care Units, and responders on MDA emergency medicycles. They treated 89 casualties, all in light condition, including: a 16-year-old male injured by shrapnel in Kafr Qassem; a man approximately 50 years old injured by blast impact in Ka’abiyye-Tabbash; a 53-year-old man who fell from a height in Tirat Carmel; 86 individuals who sustained minor injuries while making their way to protected areas; and 6 individuals suffering from anxiety.
At the request of the Ministry of Health, Magen David Adom teams are transferring bedridden patients, ventilated patients, and others from their current locations to protected facilities, using MDA’s special intensive care buses, Mobile Intensive Care Units, and ambulances.
Magen David Adom’s EMTs and paramedics continue to remain at peak readiness to provide immediate medical response as needed.
