"The new motorcycle will help her reach anyone in need of medical treatment as quickly as possible": The first woman in MDA to save lives on a motorcycle

About four years ago, Reuma Medina Amit from Kochav Yair joined Magen David Adom's medics course and later completed an ambulance driver course as well. She has been volunteering on a weekly basis in MDA, as an ambulance driver and as a first responder in the community where she lives.

In a festive dedication ceremony with the Mayor of the Kochav Yair Yuval Arad, MDA Director General Eli Bin, Friends of MDA Director General Orly Ariel, and members of the MDA Directorate, a new motorcycle

Donated by 'Israel Friends of MDA' was welcomed in to the organization. Rauma, a volunteer in Magen David Adom, a mother of three and a marketing consultant, can now be seen riding the motorcycle, on her way to save lives. "Thanks to the motorcycle, we will be able to travel faster on the highways, reducing the response time and save lives," said the Chairman of the Volunteer Administration in the Yarkon Region and MDA Board Member Haim Dagan.

"When I started volunteering for MDA, my children were nine, five, and one years old. It seemed impossible to me, but I am so happy I succeeded, there is nothing better than volunteering in MDA, and the satisfaction I feel when I treat those who need it is tremendous. For years I used to ride motorcycles, and I really liked it, but I decided to give it up after having kids" said Rauma. "Now, going back and riding this motorcycle, in order to saving lives, has given me much joy".

MDA Director General, Eli Bin: "I would like to thank the donor who wished to remain anonymous and 'Israel Friends of MDA', for the wonderful donation of this motorcycle, which will join MDA's fleet of vehicles. I would also like to congratulate Rauma, whose volunteer work at Magen David Adom has helpt save many lives in Kochav Yair and in the nearby communities. The new motorcycle will help her reach anyone in need of medical treatment as quickly as possible.
